Many people think that having more money will make them happy.  However, many studies show that there is an inverse relationship between money and happiness (i.e. happiness goes down as income goes up), once incomes rise above the minimum amount for food, clothing and shelter.

I think that the statistics are true; that we tend to forget what truly makes us happy when we begin to travel on the road to riches.
