I am a firm believer in applying the wisdom of the Proverbs to my daily life.  This post is the beginning of a weekly progression through the Proverbs.

 

This is one of my favorites.  Anytime that I start feeling greedy or materialistic, I remember the blessings that come through generousity to those less fortunate.  These blessings are often not monetary blessings, but may be more sentimental in nature - - love, friendships, a hug from your children, etc.  In addition, you have the feeling that you performed a good deed in accordance with God's will.  Even though your gift may have had a set price, often the rewards are truly priceless.
